  • I’m a mixed-media artist working primarily in acrylic and encaustic collage. My paintings explore storytelling through gestural mark marking and careful layer structuring.  I paint on wood for its strength and resilience to sanding and scraping — as well as its natural grain patterns, which I often incorporate into my compositions. My collages merge conceptual digital images with encaustic. I love the handcrafting process of manipulating hot wax while fusing prints to wood.

I’ve lived across the US in small towns, large cities and rural countrysides — including Brooklyn, San Francisco, Scranton and Raleigh/Durham. Visual and conceptual references often come from my experiences throughout these diverse communities. I’ve worked for many years in the Fine Arts field — including roles a studio artist for both The Metropolitan Museum and Christie’s Auction House, and as the lead assistant to a corporate art consultant. These positions provided an invaluable addition to my formal fine art education, with hands-on exposure to an extensive range of art from antiquity to contemporary.  I have a BFA in Illustration and a career creating digital art for clients including Apple, Google & global advertising agencies.
