I’m a mixed media artist working in acrylic painting, conceptual digital art, and encaustic collage. // My paintings are abstract expressive pieces that explore storytelling through gestural mark-making, kinetic palettes and careful layer structuring. Working with color and movement, I build / revisit / resurface layers with mindful approach, while leaning into chance and intuition. // My mixed-media collages are digital composites printed in layers, and fused with encaustic. These pieces can be 10+ layers deep of encaustic and printed art on rice paper. I often merge graphics/text with industrial/construction based imagery and rugged/overgrown nature scenes. I love the handcrafting process of manipulating wax to create levels of opacity and translucence.
_______________I've lived throughout the US in small towns, large cities and rural countrysides – including NYC, SF Bay, Scranton and Raleigh/Durham. My first art studio was a shared space in DUMBO Brooklyn, and I currently work out of my home studio in the Raleigh/Durham area. Visual and conceptual references come from experiences living across such diverse communities. // My work in the fine arts field includes roles as a studio artist for The Metropolitan Museum and Christie’s, and as lead assistant to a corporate art consultant. I have a BFA in Illustration, and a career creating digital art for clients including Apple, Google and global advertising agencies. My work has been exhibited nationally in galleries and museums, and is in private and permanent collections.
