  • I’m a mixed media artist working primarily in acrylic painting and encaustic collage. My paintings are abstract expressive pieces exploring storytelling through gestural mark-making, kinetic palettes and careful layer structuring. I work on wood for its organic qualities and resilience to vigorous brushwork / sanding / scraping.  My collage and woven paper pieces are conceptual, digital composites printed on rice paper and fused to wood with encaustic. I love the handcrafting process of manipulating heated wax medium to create layers of translucency and opacity.
    _______________

I've lived throughout the US in small towns, large cities and rural countrysides – including Brooklyn, San Francisco, Scranton and Raleigh/Durham. Visual and conceptual references come from experiences across these many diverse communities. My work in the fine arts field includes roles as a studio artist for The Metropolitan Museum and Christie’s, and as lead assistant to a corporate art consultant. I have a BFA in Illustration, and a career creating digital art for clients including Apple, Google and global advertising agencies. My work has been exhibited nationally in galleries and museums, and is in private and permanent collections.
